Walking through a muddy forest is not dissimilar to life in general.
There are some good bits, some bad bits and some truly horrid bits.
Sometimes you just want it all to end. You want to give up or you wish a giant black hole could transport you to anywhere else but here.
The thing with a forest is, the only way to get out of it is to keep walking – as annoying or painful or depressing or scary as that may be.
It’s the same with life.
Often to get through those hard times, we have to plunge deeper into the forest in order to come out the other side. We have to keep going so that we can come out the other end.
And there will always be an end.
Even though it doesn’t feel like it right now, there will be a time when you step out from the trees and there will be freedom and light.
You may not be unscathed but you will notice your strength, courage, resourcefulness, determination and resilience.
These are traits we all have access to because they are part of our essence. They are intrinsic characteristics that make us US.
We are stronger, more capable, more resilient and more awesome than we think.
We can do muddy forests!
