How can I improve my self-worth?
That was the question I asked myself when I experienced the fallout from an emotionally abusive relationship.
It’s taken several years to put the pieces together to realise it wasn’t a matter of trying to improve my self-worth but rather recognising my self-worth was always there.
Bottom line…
Self-worth is an intrinsic part of all of us.
Everyone’s is equal.
You can’t have more or less.
It can’t be taken or stolen.
It’s not dependent on your achievements, your job, your appearance, your relationship status, how big your bank balance is or how many social media likes you have.
It’s quite simple really.
You’re amazing.
That’s it.
No ifs, buts or maybes.
So what do you do if you feel like you need to “improve” your self-worth?
Start by being kind to yourself.
The more you treat yourself with love and compassion, give yourself a break from putting yourself down, recognise your strength and resilience and invest in you, the more you will see the amazingness that was there all along.
