How unleashing your potential can empower your child

So one of my absolute pet passions is talking about how fricken amazing we are and how we don’t even know it.

Last week, I had the honour of speaking to the awesome Agata Diu, the founder of My Money, My Honey, which is a company that provides financial education programmes for parents and children that help children learn about money and budgeting. (A genius idea I have to say, especially in this cost of living crisis where we are all trying to make that money go that little bit further).

Our theme for our talk for her Facebook community of parents was: How unleashing your potential can empower your child.

This is a huge deal because parents are role models for their children and form a fundamental part of the conditioning beliefs we have about ourselves and the world.

The more parents believe in themselves and what they are capable of and the more they see the innate potential and superpowers of awesomeness, as I call them, in their children (which are 100% there), the more this will empower their children to embrace and unleash their own potential. And who, as a parent, doesn’t want that for their children?

Agata and I had a great chat – and I could have continued on talking. We discussed why we have a tendency to not believe in ourselves more, how we can unleash our potential and why comparing ourselves with others doesn’t make any sense.

It’s 15 minutes of my quirky New Zealand accent preaching how we are more awesome than we think we are and how seeing that potential in ourselves and in our children helps bring out the awesomeness in all of us.

You can listen to the full conversation here.

Let me know what you think.

PS – As an aside, I don’t have children myself but I recognise the potential in everyone. If you’re interested in finding your potential, let’s talk.
