I'm actually a little sad that in a week's time I'll be leaving the family holiday home after I escaped here to sort my head out and recover from my knee injury that put paid to completing the Te Araroa Trail this season. Gutted that the middle section of the Queen Charlotte Track was diverted to a road walk because of fire risk and lack of water sources but I still got two days of great walking and some stunning scenery - and even the walk into Havelock was just as good.
