Thank you to all my supporters

Just a massive massive thank you to everyone who is believing in me and supporting me in the lead up to my #WalkNZ adventure.

Your kindness, your words of encouragement and your generosity to the mental health charities I’m fundraising for – Mind and The Mental Health Foundation of NZ – mean so much to me. I am beyond humbled. I’m just an ordinary girl who battles with self-doubt on a near daily basis who has a dream to walk the length of New Zealand. Thank you to everyone – you are the true inspirers in this story. You’re fricken awesome!

I’m solo walking the 3,000km Te Araroa trail down the length of New Zealand to raise awareness of self-doubt and low self-esteem, which are linked to mental health problems. I want to show that these negative thoughts don’t have to hold us back from achieving our goals and dreams.

In aid of this cause, I’m also fundraising for Mind, the mental health charity in the UK, so that money can go to services and support systems to help people with mental health problems, some of whom may also have been affected by the debilitating effects of self-doubt and low self-esteem. To lend your support and donate, please visit my fundraising page here.

If you’re in New Zealand and want to support my effort and mental health, I’m also fundraising for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. To support my cause, please visit my fundraising page here

  1. When you suffer from self doubt and have a lack of self worth, it is an instinct to push people away – a protection against rejection, I guess: a defence mechanism. But one of your tasks in beating self doubt will be letting us, your family, friends and supporters, in. Accept the compliments. Let yourself believe that our enthusiasm for you and your activities is genuine and that you are worth every bit of it. Nobody is “just ordinary” when it comes down to it. We are all a bit wonderful, so allow us to tell you, and show you, you are too. We think your quests – the walk, the battle with self doubt and the fund raising, not to mention the volcanoes – are fricken awesome. Thanks for taking the lead and showing us not-so-courageous self-doubters that pushing the boundaries can be done.

  2. Hi Kat

Thinking of you at the beginning of your amazing journey and looking forward to hearing about your progress.

You are an inspiration! Wish I had half your strength and determination.

As a direct result of following your story I am planning to walk Offa’s Dyke in the spring. Not as dramatic as your route but a start. Thank you Kat.

    Go well and enjoy. 😊

  3. Thanks Sarah. This is so awesome – Offa’s Dyke is on my to do list. I’m so excited that you’re going to do this. That’s strength and determination right there! You’ll have a blast. I can’t wait to hear about it when I get back.
